Dry Resin Ion Exchange Filter Cartridge
HILCO ET Series
Dry Ion Exchange for Fluid Conditioning
HILCO Dry Resin Ion Exchange cartridges are designed to reduce Total Acid Numbers (TAN) and varnish potential in phosphate ester, mineral, and synthetic fluids. HILCO utilizes dry resin technology, and a radial flow path providing 30% more resonance time for the cartridges. These superior engineering attributes equate to high-efficiency acid scavenging without adding moisture or contaminants to the system fluid, helping extend fluid life and maintain system reliability.
HILCO ET Series cartridges are typically used in kidney loop filtration systems to continuously condition fluid, control / lower acid buildup, and support stable long-term equipment operation.

HILCO Dry Ion Exchange Key Features:
High-Capacity Acid Removal
Provides significantly higher acid scavenging capacity compared to traditional adsorption media such as Fuller’s Earth and Selexsorb.
Patented Dry Resin Technology
Predried ion exchange resin to the optimum level removes acids and moisture without introducing water or additional contaminants into the fluid.
Reduces TAN and Varnish Potential
Helps control fluid degradation by reducing Total Acid Number (TAN) and limiting varnish-forming compounds.
Controlled Expansion Design
Allows resin media to safely expand during operation while maintaining structural integrity and performance.
HOW IT WORKS
Removing Acidic Contaminants Through Dry Resin Ion Exchange
In turbine, hydraulic, and circulating fluid systems, oxidation and thermal degradation of fluids, which leads to Metallic salts, can lead to the formation of acidic byproducts. Entrained air from diesel ignition of compressed air bubbles can also raise fluid temperatures which form NOx. Over time, these will increase the Total Acid Number (TAN), accelerate varnish formation, and reduce overall fluid stability and equipment reliability.

By Removing Acidic Contaminants and Reducing Varnish Potential, HILCO Dry Resin Ion Exchange Cartridges Help Deliver:
Extended Fluid Life
Slows chemical degradation and oxidation progression
Reduced Varnish Formation
Helps prevent deposit buildup on valves and sensitive components
Improved System Reliability
Maintains stable fluid chemistry for consistent operation
Lower Maintenance Requirements
Reduces need for fluid replacement and system cleaning
Industries
Supporting Critical Fluid Condition Applications Across Industries
HILCO Dry Resin Ion Exchange cartridges are used in circulating fluid systems requiring continuous acid removal and varnish control. In turbine oil ion exchange applications, the dry resin media helps reduce TAN and varnish potential without introducing moisture into the fluid.
WHY HILLIARD
Why Companies Choose HILCO Dry Resin Ion Exchange Cartridges
Targeted Acid Removal
Dry ion exchange resin removes acids and other ionic degradation products from industrial oils to help maintain fluid condition.
Varnish Precursor Control
ET cartridges target soluble contaminants associated with varnish formation, addressing fluid degradation products that conventional particulate filtration does not remove.
Broad Industrial Fluid Compatibility
Designed for use with phosphate ester, mineral, and synthetic fluids in turbine lubrication, hydraulic, and other critical oil systems.
Integrated Fluid Conditioning Approach
HILCO combines ion exchange technology with industrial filtration expertise to address both fluid cleanliness and chemical degradation within critical lubrication systems.
