Hilliard Electric Start Assembly
Hilliard Solenoid-Actuated Starting Assembly
Supporting Reliable Startup Performance in Turbine and Engine Applications
Hilliard Electric Start Assemblies are designed for aero-derivative industrial turbine and reciprocating engine applications where reliable startup capability is required. Operating on 24 volt DC power, the assembly utilizes a solenoid-actuated Positork drive to provide controlled engagement during startup.
With output torque up to 80 ft lb, splined output for gas turbine applications, an SAE 3 multi-position mounting flange, and CW or CCW rotation capability, the assembly is designed to support a variety of installation and operating requirements.

Hilliard Electric Start Assembly Key Features:
Controlled Electric Engagement
Uses 24 volt DC power and solenoid actuation to engage the Positork drive during startup.
Gas Turbine Output Configuration
Features a splined output designed for gas turbine applications.
Up to 80 ft lb Output Torque
Capable of API-598 Class II sealing for liquid service and ANSI/FCI 70-2 Class VI sealing for gas service.
Multi-Position Mounting Flexibility
SAE 3 mounting flange supports multiple installation positions.
Directional Rotation Options
Available for clockwise and counterclockwise rotation requirements.
HOW IT WORKS
Delivering Controlled Engagement During Startup
Electric starting systems provide the rotational force required to accelerate an engine during startup. By delivering controlled engagement between the starter assembly and the engine, rotational energy can be transferred until the engine reaches a condition where normal operation can begin.
In turbine and reciprocating engine applications, dependable engagement and torque delivery are critical to achieving a consistent startup sequence and supporting equipment availability.

Controlled Startup Engagement
Initiates rotation through an electrically actuated drive mechanism.
Rotational Force Transfer
Delivers torque from the assembly to the engine during startup.
Consistent Startup Performance
Supports repeatable starting sequences for critical equipment.
Application Flexibility
Accommodates varying installation and operating requirements across turbine and engine platforms.
The Electric Start Assembly utilizes a solenoid-actuated Positork drive to engage the starting mechanism and transmit torque to the engine. Once engaged, rotational force is transferred through the output connection to support the startup process.
