Anti-Static Filter Cartridges
HILCO PH-CGJ Series
Anti-Static Filter Cartridges for Industrial Applications
HILCO PH-CGJ filter elements are engineered with carbon impregnated conductive fibers co-pleated between two layers of high-performance microglass media. The conductive path dissipates static charge buildup before discharge can occur, protecting lube oil, filter media, and downstream components from damage caused by electrostatic events.

HILCO Anti-Static Filter Cartridge Key Features:
Available in Every Standard HILCO Synthetic Media Grade
Full range of media-grade codes; no compromise between filtration efficiency and anti-static protection.
Drop-In Replacement With Minimal Pressure Drop Impact
Direct replacement for standard HILCO PH series elements. No housing, plumbing, or hardware changes required, and only a modest pressure drop increase.
Proven Performance Since the 1990s
Originally developed in the mid-1990s for a power plant in Japan. Trusted by customers worldwide ever since.
Compatibility Across a Wide Range of Applications
Suitable for turbine, compressor, hydraulic, and lube oil systems across power generation, oil & gas, marine, pulp & paper, steel, and more.
HOW IT WORKS
Stopping Static at the Source with Filter Cartridges
Modern turbo-machinery runs on Group II lubricant base stocks, which exhibit very low fluid conductivity compared to the Group I oils they replaced. As oil circulates, static charges build up on non-conductive components — especially filter elements, where large surface area and high flow velocities accelerate accumulation. When the potential difference between two points grows large enough, static discharge occurs, often visible as a spark inside the filter housing and audible as a sharp crack or pop.

By Dissipating Static Charge Before It Can Discharge, HILCO PH-CGJ Elements Help Deliver:
Extended Oil Life
protects base oil molecules and preserves antioxidant additives
Cleaner Systems
prevents varnish deposits on servo valves, bearings, and journal surfaces
Longer Filter Element Service Life
eliminates physical damage to the media from discharge events
Lower Maintenance Costs
and reduced risk of unplanned shutdowns in critical equipment
Industries
Anti-Static Cartridge Filters Trusted Across Critical Industries
HILCO anti-static filter elements are used in a wide range of industries where Group II oils and sensitive rotating equipment are common. They support varnish mitigation filter strategies by reducing electrostatic discharge that can damage oil molecules and contribute to varnish formation.
WHY HILLIARD
Why Companies Choose HILCO Anti-Static Filter Cartridges
Engineered Anti-Static Filtration Media
Carbon-impregnated conductive fibers are co-pleated between microglass layers to dissipate electrostatic charge generated as fluid passes through the filtration media.
Filtration Performance with Static Dissipation
The PH-CGJ design combines particulate filtration with conductive media, providing static-control capability without requiring a separate downstream component.
Available Across HILCO Synthetic Grades
Anti-static construction is available across HILCO synthetic filtration grades, allowing filtration efficiency to be selected around the cleanliness requirements of the fluid system.
Established HILCO Filtration Technology
Developed by HILCO in the mid-1990s, the anti-static cartridge design combines decades of application experience with HILCO’s industrial filtration and fluid management expertise.
