HOW IT WORKS

Why Specify Hilliard Industrial Brake Components?

Hilliard industrial brake components, including brake discs, hubs, mounting components, and related hardware, provide the mechanical interface required to integrate the brake into the driven equipment. Available configurations support different shaft, mounting, and braking requirements, helping create a complete brake system matched to the equipment and application.

Why Do the Right Brake Components Matter?

Establishes the Braking Interface

Brake discs, hubs, and mounting components create the physical connection between the brake and rotating equipment. Proper component selection ensures braking force can be applied through the disc and transferred through the hub to the equipment shaft.

Matches Disc Geometry to Braking Requirements

Disc diameter, thickness, material, and mounting configuration influence how a brake integrates with the equipment and achieves the required braking performance. Hilliard offers standard brake discs from 6 to 54 inches in diameter, with additional sizes available for application-specific requirements.

Supports Proper Hub and Shaft Integration

Hub configuration determines how the brake disc interfaces with the equipment shaft. Parallel and tapered bores with keyways, along with keyless locking options, provide flexibility for different shaft designs and installation requirements.

Simplifies Complete Brake System Integration

Selecting compatible discs, hubs, mounting components, and brake assemblies helps ensure the individual components function as a complete system. Hilliard’s range of standard and application-specific components allows the braking package to be configured around available space, shaft geometry, brake selection, and equipment requirements.
